AB 1954 will allow for the Riverside County Transportation
Commission (RCTC) to apply to the California Transportation
Commission in regards to developing and operating high-occupancy
toll (HOT) lanes, including the administration and operation of
a value pricing program and exclusive or preferential lane
facilities for public transit.
This is a necessary step in the right direction for fixing the
already congested I-15. Our region depends heavily on the I-15
for goods movement and is a vital link in the corridor,
especially when traveling and connecting to the SR-91. This
legislation will allow our region to attract new businesses and
help maintain the economic vitality of the region. This proposed
new law would authorize RCTC to administer and operate on the
transportation corridors in Riverside County, specifically the
I-15.
